Hello My Name Is...

David Carmichael

This is my 8th year at Todd County Middle School teaching music & band in grades 6-8.
I have a Bachelor of Music Degree from Murray State University, a Masters Degree in
Education (Curriculum & Instruction), and am currently pursuing my Doctoral Degree
in Education from Western Kentucky University (along with administrative certification).

     Our performing arts classes at TCMS are being pushed well beyond simple knowledge of the arts, and are PERFORMING at very high levels, given their limited time with the content in class.  This years' classes have learned to step ("Stomp the Yard"), play keyboards/pianos, and percussion (second nine week's classes performed for the school at Christmas during lunch - and did great!).

Additionally in my 8 years at TCMS, I have been able to grow the size of the band program from just over 30 members to well over 100 (nearly 25% of the school).  Our program
is an award winning band, and has been featured as part of the DisneyWorld Music Festival
 in Orlando, Florida.  I am beyond proud of our students' hard work and continued
work to ensure our band program is one of the elite music programs in the state.
